Sept 13: Intro

It's official: The Call came in yesterday for deployment to ground zero of hurricane Katrina. I'll be workikng as a catastrophe insurance adjuster in a camp that has been set up 2 hours from N.O. More details to come. As of this time I don't know how long I'll be working this storm, but come back to this log for updates.

I've handed off all future gigs to my musical "big brothers" Keith Wren, Paul Glover, and Don Lewis. Check my calendar and just go to one of the shows you see there. I don't know who's taking each gig, but whoever you end up seeing, you'll be very impressed.

I'm announcing my intentions to bring in money during storm season as a catastrophe insurance adjuster. There is still much to learn and I'm doing the old "trial by fire" method being thrown as a beginner into the the center of one of the largest natural disasters in U.S. history...I picked a hell of year to start. Wish me luck.

The call for deployment to Katrina generated a whirlwind of activity. I have 2 days to finish prep, pack up my house and move to a new house, then I'm Louisiana bound.

For everyone that received the email or arrived here by other means, here's what is going on and what I plan to do:

I snuck away this spring and did my education/license work. Why? I saw it as an opportunity to increase prosperity after 8 years of full time performing, and a way to do music on my own terms.

If all goes well and I make it to storm off-season with money in hand, I'll be able to choose when and where I will perform.

The biggest music news is when I get the money together, I'll be building a small project studio from the ground up on the 1/2 acre of land I have now and creating a singer songwriter product of my own music. I hope that you'll support the singer/songwriter project by coming to the all original shows and buying a CD.

The next news is the cover song show you all know. Unless I have to choose otherwise, I'll be performing fewer public gigs and will be focusing more on promotion of private performances. If all goes well, public appearances will fewer, but worth coming to with better venues and a more entertaining show.

For all who have come to the shows over the last 8 years and even those who just like reading the emails, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!

Jan 3: Storm web log finally arrives

    "Where's the storm web log?"
The entire time I was in N.O. I had no land line internet. The program & laptop I use for website updates needs land line internet so the storm log was never posted.
However, I did keep a basic log as a word document when I had time. I just finished editing it and threw in some photos taken while I was there.

Here is the full storm log. I may take the time to format it the way I want, but right now you'll find numerous entries, stories & descriptions along with the pictures I took. There will be full photo albums coming soon so check back often.

I spoke with 30 year veterans of insurance adjusting that have never seen anything like this storm. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
